On a bright morning of 14 September 2008,I woke up with spirit...ah what the hell?I'm beginning to speak like Shakspeare....
So,I was going for a 40km expediton on the 14 September 2008.It ends on the next day.I actually did it last year but I stumbled in the end,so I decided to walk with Edvin and Liang Fu.At least this time we do need to do "perkhidmatan selama 2 jam" in any old folks home as we did it previously.
We started off from Wisma Pengakap and then went and pass by to several places.(order by checkpoints)
P.Ramlee House:
General Hospital:
Gurney Plaza
Island Plaza:
Botanical Gardens
Penang Hill:
Kek Lok Si:
Air Itam Dam:
1200 step temple("Cheng Ji Chan"):
Paya Terubong:
(End point:Tester's House)
Hmm..so places I found some places quite interesting.
One of the places we go is Penang Hill.Man..the road there is so windy and steep. It tooks alot of us to get up there. What's worse, halfway through there's was a slight rain and it hampered out time to reach there.
When we reached there, there wasn't any people..cause it's 8.00 p.m.And besides the train wasn't working so not many visitors will come except the senior citizen who regularly hike up there.
We also camped there.
Kek Lok Si-Air Itam Dam-1200 Step Temple
Oh my goodness was like near the edge of hell....it was really a tiring hike up a slow but steep gradient.Going to Kek Lok Si was cake but going to AIr Itam Dam was the bitter gourd.A whole 1 hour hike and not a single body of water in sight...we sometimes doubted oursleves and wondered whether we took a wrong route. But at last we did reach there.
Then,it worsen. From Air Itam Dam to 1200 step temple was bloody tiring. The road is so windy and steep it rivals those during we hike to Penang Hill.Sometimes we even took our unform out cause we're so wet with our sweats dripping all over our body.
Log Book Time:
Our tester Wong Soon Lee gave us a month to do.Initially I did half way then I gave all the info and a sample to Edvin Saw to refer.
After 3 weeks and 1 week more before the final date...he never even touched the maps.I quickly ask him to give it all to me to finish it all and I took 4-5 days to complete the 66 pages thick log book.
Some random pics I took during the expedition:
THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!
Do pray i can complete my 5 AKPN badges!!
