E200K or Perdana V6?Now Camry...

If you haven't read the newspaper yet...there's an issue with a state goverment that wanted to replace the standard Proton Perdana V6 with 14 untis of Mercedes-Benz E200k cars for all the state EXCO that cost somewhere Rm3.43 million!!

According to the state goverment the reason they wanted to change their fleet of cars is that maintaining the Proton cars supposedly cost around 50k in 3 years time to repair some parts like the gearbox and stuff...

WHAT THE HECK???I and many people just can't believe it!!I mean obviously the goverment just want to show off that's all.Mercedes Benz as a choice of reliability?I mean the Merc IS a good car but if they want reliability they could just do with a Toyota Camry or Accord.Even the newest Kia Optima isn't a bad choice after all..

What really stinks is the fact that the money used to buy the Mercedes are the PEOPLE'S MONEY!!Yeah...so it doesn't matter to them that taxpayer's hard-earned money are going down the drain to the 3-pointed stars for them to show off.

According to articles in Paul Tan's Automotive Blog,Proton has stated that "there have never been any warranty claims made by the Terengganu state government since October 2004 for one of the cars that supposedly racked up over RM100,000 in repairs".Even servicing only costs RM200 with oil fiters.If so,then where did the other RM99,800+ go?Someone's pocket?Holland?Welfare of People?We won't know...

These may the only "reasonable" reasons why maintaining the Perdana is so expensive:
1)The parts are aftermarket rallying parts. signed by the late Colin Mcrae.
2)They bought the parts in an auction and don't know when to stop...
3)The repairman conned them.

Reason 1 is probably the most unlikely...although many people did suggested that.Reason # 2 may well happen since they like to play around with OUR money and are fools when it comes to money management.I really loved #3 but I don't think that happened...if it really happened then they will lose their face as fast as a Merc SLR...

On the contrary,the Penang State Goverment decided not to replace their fleet of cars with newer versions of the Perdana so that they have enough money to run the state as there isn't much funds from the federal goverment.See anything here??

The goverment call all Malaysians to "Ubah Gaya Hidup" and buy Malaysian products.I believe this is a good call for a good cause but if the highs don't do it?Won't the goverment sound hyprocitical?

I hope the Malaysian Goverment would take some action to them...

Update:According to Star,The PM agreed on their move to change the Proton Perdana V6 to Mercedes Benz E-Class...so much for ubah gaya hidup.Pakatan Rakyat just got more ammunition to "tembak".

Also,another state near Penang is going to change their fleet to Toyota Camry.At least it's still forgiving than Mers..but ONLY BY A BIT!That goverment said they needed a car safe enough to "Travel all over the place".Uh Huh,and the rest of us wrestling with our money management these few weeks do not need safe cars to "travel all over the place".

One of my Chirstmas wishlist now would be hoping they will take our Public Transport system just for a week,see how would they feel after sitting on their "Golden Seats" and come back to earth just to taste a bit of being a "Rakyat"!

Next of the list(maybe):Goverment considering purchasing Rolls-Royce.Now that will keep te ball "Rolling"...

Update(26/July/2008):
The national goverment said that the E-Class is only for the use of VIP guests coming to visit their state.What the heck? No offense to them,but I don't think many VIP(let alone worthy ones) will come stop by their place.They'll most probably be sitting in a ROLLS-ROYCE or BENTLEY in KL...

So,this is how they will end the case?I can't believe it,after that and the whole thing is gone??Now this is really a waste of funds...talk about spending wisely and using it to the fullest....

My Two Cents//Meus duos cents:412 Unlimited

There was one BSF class that I went recently that triggered this thought of mine.You see,I'm the early bird of the class and I got a chance to talk to Aunt Josephine(who BTW is very cool!)and we touched the topic of my GBC youthgroup.

She asked what's my opinion of 412,well...after some clear thoughts since I did not quite catch what she meant by that,I could say that 412 has many cliques.

This is true;Spare some time to come to our youth meetings on Sunday 9am and you can get a better picture of what I mean.Aunt Jo also told me that some of the teenage S&D of her friends felt that the youth group were not welcoming enough and they're not really keen to come for our meetings.That may explain the steady decline in attendance in our youth.

From what I could observed there are certain types of cliques mainly the supposed "high-class" girls,boys who thought they were cool,there's even cliques of people who are active in the youth too!!But the most saddest part of me are the "rejects" clique.Not because they are cliquey but because there's no one who talk to them.

Besides them,there are also those stray people that does not have cliques and they soon formed their own gang along with those "strayers",talk about being social animals.There's also this guy by the name of Albert*(not his real name)who unfortunately looks like he is in his own world..true there are times he acts quite weird but what's really sad is people look down on him alot.One of the reasons may be he ask alot of questions(some of them kinda rediculous) but that's the way he is.Right now I'm beginning to see the picture: Don't change someone just so he pleases you,but change your attitude towards him and accept him for who
he really is(In God's image)..I felt alot more better and I can tolerate him more and accept him for who he really is.

Sadly,that isn't what people always think about him..or any of the "rejects".I personally feel that members in 412 should reach out to this people.Not that you must be friends instantly but make them feel welcome.Sure,I may sound like a hypocrite,fine whatever...at least I have the guts to admit that!

Finally,I hope whoever from 412 read this blog,I really hope you all give a nice knock to your head after reading this,cause I decided to be more friendly to new-comers and will try my best to make them feel welcome one way or another.Cause "if no one else will do,wh0 else"?

I hope this is God's will!

A very pissed off Aaron

Want to know why?Let me tell you my ordeal..

I went for a troop room cleaning activity,when it was 3.00 p.m.,I decided to stop and went to the bus stop.I went to the bus stop near RECSAM.

When i reached the bus stop...I waited for the bus...but for some reason it took a VERY LONG TIME.When the bus came,I waved my hand,but that driver never stop at the bus stop!He even look at me and yet never came.I was really angry at that time.

I have no choice but to sit on the 301 bus...it was already 3.50 that time.The journey was ok...but now here comes the part that I went mad.

See...the 301 bus no longer goes in Sungai Ara anymore for some reasons God only knows.SO I decided to stop near the mart to get something to drink and continue my journey home.I pressed the button but accidentally pressed too many times.The bus then stop,but the driver never opened the door.

I was confused?What the heck is that driver doing?He then said something:

Driver:Tekan lagi sekali..

Aaron:(I mah tekan)

Driver:TEKAN LAGI SEKALI

Aaron:Saya mahu turun sini.

Driver:TEKAN LAGI LAH!!!SUKA SUKA TEKAN!

My head nearly exploded...

Then I went to get my drink..while I was on my way home,Auntie Cynthia saw me and offered me a ride home.I really thank god for this.

Look,now when public transport is needed at it's most important time when fuel prices increased,it crashed and burned.Now it's nothing but a joke already.Last time we need to wait for 5 minutes for one to come..now it's a miracle if one ever shows up.

So RapidPenang isn't that rapid anymore eh?

My views on the increse in petrol price

Well..as many of you know...petrol prices has just gone up!!Well...compare to other contries Malaysia is doing slighty well but RM 2.70 per litre??I don't think Malaysians will still be happy about that..

I mean....why does petrol price increase when we have years of technology gradually advancing in searching for oil well???We have the arabs...brunei....and the ocean!!Yes...the ocean contains more oil wells than the surface of the earth..yet why aren't there many sea platform to harvest this black gold..

One of the most talk-about alternatives were hybrid cars...Today I just saw a red Toyota Prius(could Malaysia starts importing this cars in the near future?).There's also the FCX Clarity which looks cool and it will be soon sale soon in the US.We even have the Honda Civic Hybrid and the soon to be developed Toyota Camry Hybrid.

About the FCX Clarity...yes...it uses hydrogen cell to move.But some diadvanteges is that processing the hydrogen needed to move this vehicle requires more energy and it isn't really that productive,besides...where on earth would we find a hydrogen station??

About the prius...It is true it is really an effictive hybrid vehicle..but what really brought it down as THE hybrid car is the styling.Don't believe me?check out the web...and many Hollywood stars are getting it,supposing to be the saviours of the world...it's beginning to look tacky owning a prius now.

Now,back to "tanah air tercinta kami",there's the new civic hybrid..but I don't think hybrid cars will be "in-thing" in Malaysia even if petrol prices are more expensive than our car itself..

Anyway...that's all I have to say for now...hopefully Petrol prices won't soar up for the near future...we have too many things increasing..except my exam marks and many people's salary...
